An Even Materialistic Wish for My Birthday

In just a few days, I’ll be a year older. Yes, A YEAR OLDER. No matter how hard I try to tell people that I’ll only be turning sixteen on the 21st of September, they wouldn’t agree with me (haha, I guess I really look old). Anyway, on the brighter side of it, my birthday falls on a Sunday, meaning my parents would have to treat me the whole day, haha! If ever I’d be given a chance to be treated by somebody on my birthday, I’d ask that person to treat me for a shopping spree! A pair of crocs shoes, the skinny pants Fatz, Ea and I saw at Whoops yesterday, the blouse that I was eyeing for at Mango and the bag that I was supposed to buy at Tomato. Pheew, I am really materialistic…but these things are just written on my wishlist and it’s nothing compared to a date with RAFAEL NADAL - oh sure, that would be THE BEST BIRTHDAY GIFT FOR ME. Kidding aside… I just want my family, boyfriend and friends to be there on my birthday, that alone would bring me to cloud 9.

A Little Drama

I visited Athena’s multiply site and got a chance to listen to a song that made me teary eyed…and I’d like to share it to you guys.

Devotion My Prayer

(spoken)
Dear GOD,
I know that she’s out there…the one I’m suppose to share my whole life with.
And in time…you’ll show her to me.
Will you take care of her, comfort her, and protect her…until that day we
meet.
And let her know…my heart…is beating with hers.
In a dream I hold you close
Embracing you with my hands
You gazed at me with eyes full of love
And made me understand
That I was meant to share it with you
My heart my mind my soul
Then I open my eyes
And all I see reality shows I’m alone
But I know someday that you’ll be by my side
Cause I know God’s just waiting till the time is right
God will you keep her safe from the thunderstorm
When the day’s cold will you keep her warm
When the darkness falls will you please shine her the way
God will you let her know that I love her so
When theres no one there that she? not alone
Just close her eyes and let her know
My heart is beating with hers
So I prayed until that day (prayed until that day)
When our hearts will beat as one (when our hearts hearts will beat as one)
I will wait so patiently (patiently)
For that day to come (for that day to come)
I know someday that you’ll be by my side
Cause I know God’s just waiting till the time is right
God will you keep her safe from the thunderstorm
When the day’s cold will you keep her warm
When the darkness falls will you please shine her the way (shine he the way)
God will you let her know that I love her so
When theres no one there that she?’ not alone
Just close her eyes and let her know
My heart is beating with hers
Is beating with hers (ooo)
My heart is beating with hers (oooo)
It’s beating with hers
God will you keep her safe from the thunderstorm
When the day’s cold will you keep her warm
When the darkness falls will you please shine her the way
God will you let her know that I love her so
When theres no one there that she’ll not alone
Just close her eyes and let her know
My heart is beating with hers
Oh~~~ it’s beating with hers
(It’s beating with yours)

It’s really love.

A New Found Craze

Bob, Tita Gie and I have been taking good care if CHIX (heterometrus longhimanus) since it landed on the grounds of Galas, Quezon City. At first, I really don’t like Chix because she is a scorpion and I thought scorpions are harmful…period. But when I saw Bob cleaning Chix’ house and when he allowed me to spray some water to Chix…I became so attached to her. And after some months, she molted at last! and here’s her picture

See, she is so sexy! and this wouldn’t just end here. Just last week, Bob bought a desert type scorpion (hottentotta hottentotta) with a level 3 venom and Tita Gie named it ELIX. We are still not sure of Elix’ gender though Elix is pregnant and is expected to have 70 babies. Wow! I still don’t have a picture of Elix but here’s what he/she looks like:

our pets are really HOT!

Something Not Good

Just a month ago, I was complaining to my parents about my constipation. It was indeed a painful month for me because I don’t have a regular bowel movement. I went to my doctor to have a check up and he recommended a diet and some medicines. I bought the medicines, hoping that it’ll help me get well. At last! the meds has somehow lessened my constipation days. But just last Saturday I had 5 trips to the bathroom and threw up everything that I ate for the day. My parents gave me their “first aid” and fortunately it worked. Pheew…but then again this stomach ache continues to bother me until now and I guess I really have to see my doctor later.

My Most Beautiful Dream

If God will only allow me to continue my dream last night, then I’d be like any fairytale princess who’d had those “happily ever after” endings.

Fast forward now… It happened during the celebration of my birthday. Bob and I have decided to celebrate my birthday at Las Vegas! (swoosh) and to my surprise, my college friends…hmm, almost all of them are invited - UGS, UTS, Milo Boys. While we were waiting for our ride Mags asked me “Ano bang gagawin natin sa Vegas?” (What are we going to do in Las Vegas?) I replied “We’ll celebrate my birthday” then he contested “Huwag na, mag-sugal na lang tayo!” (Nah, let’s just go to the Casino). There was a fast shift to a lunch scene where the family of Bob’s closest friend, Albert were all there. We were having a healthy conversation when Bob asked Albert, “Bert, may yosi ka?” (Bert, do you have a cigarette with you?) Albert told him that he doesn’t have a pack of cigarettes with him and voluntarily bought Bob a pack of cigarettes.

We bid goodbye to Albert’s family and waited for our ride. While waiting for our ride, Bob and I took pictures of us (a happy couple, indeed). And there inside the plane we were really sweet, saying sweet nothings to each other…then I suddenly heard a blasting sound- My mom woke me up! Err…I tried my best to get back to my dream, hoping that I can still continue it…but that’s just too impossible.

Enlightened

I usually feel sleepy whenever our professor gives his long lectures about a certain topic (for Pete’s sake, it’s the unholy hour of the day!) so instead of listening to him, I’d rather do something else not to feel sleepy. but Tuesday was different…as I came in late in the class (thank GOD he’s still fixing the things that he needs in his lecture), I sat beside Nilo, a good friend of mine. Our professor started checking attendance and proceeded to his long lecture. As usual, I wasn’t paying much attention to whatever he’s saying, but at the moment that he changed the topic, uh well moved on with the topic…I became surprisingly interested with what he’s saying…

Almost all of my college friends know that I am really going through a very difficult situation. I come to school wearing that big frown on my face and when I see them, I’d masquerade with a smile. This is how
my life in school is like, pheew. Going back to my professor’s lecture…he said and this is according to
Karl Popper, that CHANGE COMES FROM WITHIN, that the outside environment has nothing to do
with the change that’s happening within ourselves. Right then and there, I began asking myself
“if change comes from within; then it is but proper to say that our problems also finds its roots
from within”.

I have now come to a conclusion that WE MAKE OUR OWN MISERIES IN LIFE. Yes, there are problems
and other inevitable things that will come our way but we shouldn’t allow these things to eat up our
whole system. Problems will be there but in the end we should always remember that we have
to get hold of these problems and not allow these things to destroy our lives.

What my name means

What Marian Kristine Means

You are confident, self assured, and capable. You are not easily intimidated.
You master any and all skills easily. You don’t have to work hard for what you want.
You make your life out to be exactly how you want it. And you’ll knock down anyone who gets in your way!

You are usually the best at everything … you strive for perfection.
You are confident, authoritative, and aggressive.
You have the classic “Type A” personality.

You are wild, crazy, and a huge rebel. You’re always up to something.
You have a ton of energy, and most people can’t handle you. You’re very intense.
You definitely are a handful, and you’re likely to get in trouble. But your kind of trouble is a lot of fun.

You tend to be pretty tightly wound. It’s easy to get you excited… which can be a good or bad thing.
You have a lot of enthusiasm, but it fades rather quickly. You don’t stick with any one thing for very long.
You have the drive to accomplish a lot in a short amount of time. Your biggest problem is making sure you finish the projects you start.

You are very intuitive and wise. You understand the world better than most people.
You also have a very active imagination. You often get carried away with your thoughts.
You are prone to a little paranoia and jealousy. You sometimes go overboard in interpreting signals.

You are a seeker of knowledge, and you have learned many things in your life.
You are also a keeper of knowledge - meaning you don’t spill secrets or spread gossip.
People sometimes think you’re snobby or aloof, but you’re just too deep in thought to pay attention to them.

You are the total package - suave, sexy, smart, and strong.
You have the whole world under your spell, and you can influence almost everyone you know.
You don’t always resist your urges to crush the weak. Just remember, they don’t have as much going for them as you do.

You are a seeker. You often find yourself restless - and you have a lot of questions about life.
You tend to travel often, to fairly random locations. You’re most comfortable when you’re far away from home.
You are quite passionate and easily tempted. Your impulses sometimes get you into trouble.

You are friendly, charming, and warm. You get along with almost everyone.
You work hard not to rock the boat. Your easy going attitude brings people together.
At times, you can be a little flaky and irresponsible. But for the important things, you pull it together.

Pull that rope

The start of our midterm examination will be on Monday, August 11, 2008 and yet I feel like I haven’t learned something in some of our subjects (or am I just not paying attention to the professor?). The thing is I am really really disappointed with my performance for the first half of the semester - zeros flying in and out in my Mandarin subject. I do the seatworks religiously, and after that…what? I’d get a full red circle mark on my yellow paper…This is not how I want things to be in my midterm exams… I’ll pull that rope up so that I can get the grade that I want. “Yes Maan, you can!!!”

Welcoming the New Bedans

Today is the scheduled date for the Integration Day of the freshmen. Every new Bedan experiences this unique way of being welcomed. Every Bedan (i guess) had REAL fun in their own integration days, I guess I did too, two years ago. For one whole week, we were asked to dress up in a different manner and here’s the list of the costumes that we were asked to wear

1st day

Girls- wedding gowns ; Boys - Atiatihan look

2nd day

Girls - combination look (shower cap, corporate blouse, jersey shorts, high socks and high heeled shoes) ; Boys- grade school look

3rd day (i can’t remember anymore)

4th day

Boys and Girls - Muchos Gracias look

We also had class presentations - Ang Dalawang Magsasaka

The final day of the integration week was really one of the best days in my entire stay in San Beda and if you want to see what I mean, just look at these pictures

And if you want to see more pictures just visit my multiply site - maanthespamqueen.multiply.com
